HESK is a free PHP based help desk program that is used to open, track, assign, and work problem
tickets. It is written and largely managed by one person, Klemen Stirn, which is impressive on the one
hand, but may also be a concern by people who would worry about long term support of a project like
this. For being a free program that is made by one person, this is a surprisingly extensive help desk
solution that will meet the needs of most users.
You can use this system to create tickets (options for both help desk members and customers to make
tickets), manage the tickets through to completion of the problem, create knowledge base articles, and
much more. While not likely a good solution for large corporations, it is a great tool to be used by
smaller businesses.
